The Islander East Pipeline, L.L.C. is a proposed interstate natural gas pipeline project that will supply natural gas to growing energy markets in Connecticut, New York City and Long Island, NY. It will bring significant economic and operational benefits to the region including increased gas supply alternatives and competition. It also will help to improve air quality though the greater use of natural gas in electric power generation.

Islander East will fully integrate the natural gas transmission systems between New England and New York, enhancing access to virtually every major supply basin in North America.   The region will benefit from a secure and dependable supply of energy from diverse sources, the importance of which dramatically came to the nation's attention during the 2005 hurricane season.

Islander East is an equally owned, limited liability company formed between subsidiaries of Spectra Energy (www.spectraenergy.com) and KeySpan Energy.
